they reckon vinyl matt wipes clean as well as anything, but if you want real matt then avoid vinyl so i am not too sure what else is out there

cut in around the edges first, then look at the cieling and brake it into sections, say from one corner to the light fitting, you should then brake it inrto 4 sections if you see what i mean, or just get some dulux magic white, it goes on pink then dries white.

vinyl matt with wipe clean, silk will be better, but use baby wipes they are the best then to use in my book

cheers guys, could you give me a little more advice on the actual rolling of the ceiling, I mean is it best to just go all in one direction or criss-cross or...? I want to give it a really good finish.

thanks again

Yes give it the old criss cross, you dont want to end up with tram lines. And a couple of coats, dont buy cheap paint.Let the first coat dry and see what it looks like, the bits you have missed! Then give another coat.

i personally just go one way, il criss cross on uneven ceiling to make sure i dont miss any bits but will then go over it in one direction, never failed me yet, as for tram lines you see them as you, so just work them out, that tends to happen when you over load the roller

Ideally you need to work away from the light with the roller.(i.e. away from the window ) This way you can easily see where you have been.
Vinyl matt can be wiped clean but don't use anything abrasive like Jif(Cif) as this will discolour the paint.

Is this ceiling in a kitchen or something like one ?
