Decorating Forum > Downside to magic paint
Thanks Simon - that gave me a chuckle.
Years ago I got half way through wallpapering my living room before realising the paper dado border was upside down - I had almost finished the room before I stood back and took a look - for fear of damaging the new wallpaper above and below I left it like that !!
Thats made me laugh after a really crap day!, and fair play for having the guts to admit it! I`ve actually stopped using it now as i realised it wasnt giving a pure brilliant white, but it does make life easy ,as long as it goes on pink and doesnt stay pink :)
Hung some wall paper upside down once, what threw me was it came off the roll backwards and i presumed the flowery vines in the pattern drooped down, thought it looked ok till the customer rang me up and said it was wrong, guess i`m no alan titchmarsh
thats really cheered me up. still laughing
I know a bloke who doesn't like using sub contractors because once upon a time he got some in to paint the back of a house. When he went to the house to check out the job they'd done, they'd painted the house next door instead!

I know there have been a few threads on here about magic paint in the past and if i remember correctly most people thought quite highly of it. In fact i can't remember any negative comments about it.
However in a moment of stupidity i stumbled across one which i think i should make you aware of. I have been painting a room a light pink colour and put a couple of coats of white on (with the second being magic paint) before putting on a couple of coats of pink. I was also painting the ceiling white.
When i put the second coat on the ceiling (of what i thought was magic white) at first i was surprised as it seemed to be going on pinker than i remember. Then after 5 minutes i realised it wasn't changing colour!!!!! It was ofcourse the pink paint for the walls that i was using rather than the magic white.
I realise this may be more of a case of my stupidity rather than a negative aspect of magic paint, but thought i should share it with you all. Anyone else had any similar decorating disasters?
Cheers
Si
