Anybody in Northern Ireland tuned in? Can provide numbers for some great tradesmen and also some names of those best avoided! (apologies if this is illegal Mr Moderator???). lots of good and bad experience recently - thinking of setting up "Local Heroes". EG.Good experience - plumber - replace taps in bathroom £40 and he pointed out (real) potential problem. EG Bad - 20 minutes up a ladder to cut a bit of clematis back - £50. You know where I'm coming from girls! PS I gave the plumber a big tip and the clematis guy a big goodbye!

Don't think this would be frowned upon. although not sure any of the regulars are from Northern Ireland. There was a thread a while back about where people were from but don't recall anyone being from Northern Ireland.

Maybe you should contact The Building Experience and ask them if they would put your Ulster Local Heroes on their company profile page? I suppose it would be like a multiple companies profile of a certain area.

Cheers

I will give you a tip.

If you think you have the seed of a good idea then just do it, don’t talk about it register a domain name and set up a website before some one else nick your idea.

By talking about it on forums like this someone is going to take you to the cleaners if they think you have a good idea.

That will now cost you four bags of wine gums.

There's plenty of these good trade schemes in place already IPHE, Guilds etc and good old fashioned word of mouth.

Save yourself lots of time, keep your plumbers name handy and pass it out to associates. Bad mouthing tradesmen could get you into trouble - your experience may be unjust and if you weren't happy then you shouldn't have paid the money.

By the way I wondered what he was doing up a ladder with clamedia then I read the post again!
